We all know that Vladamir Putin never actually left the Russian presidency - having his puppet Medvedev show-off Russia's shiny democracy - so it should be no surprise that Putin might (read likely) reclaim the title:
Vladimir Putin dropped the heaviest hint so far that he aims to return to his former post as president in 2012, a move that could see him still in the Kremlin in 2024 – aged 72. Speaking to a group of international scholars and journalists at his country residence, the Russian prime minister refused to quash rumours that he would return as president when Dmitry Medvedev finished his first term.
How wonderful for us all. We know he has Alexander Litvinenko's vote and that of Anna Politkovskaya as well. Perhaps Paul Klebnikov and Natalya Estemirova can help with the campaign? Maybe Yuri Shchekochikhin can run as Vice President? Anastasia Baburova can act as press secretary. Oh wait, they were all murdered and cannot in any way, shape, or form participate in Russian politics. They are just a few of many murdered during Putin's reign of terror.
